More On The Dolly Parton Family Album

We told you last week that Dolly Parton's next album could very well be a family affair. Since then, it's been confirmed: the album will indeed be a family affair, exploring her East Tennessee roots - but there's more. The album, which could feature up to 40 songs, will spotlight the legacy of the Parton family and her mother’s family, the Owens, by tracing the family's journey from the UK in the 1600s to their home in East Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains. The album will feature several members of Parton’s immediate and extended family, and will also include the voices of some of her family members who have passed on. In addition, a four-part docuseries will include interviews with several of Parton’s family members, as well as concert performances filmed at Knoxville’s historic Bijou Theater, featuring Parton and other family members featured on the record. The entire project, "Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables" comes out November 15.
