A Lock Of Hair Selling For $19,000!

A lock of Ludwig van Beethoven's hair is being auctioned off.

The German composer allegedly gave it to a contemporary nearly 200 years ago after he cut it off himself. The hair, displayed in an oval frame, is being auctioned off at the Sothesby's auction house in Britain this week. It's expected to have bids ranging between $15,000 and $19,000.

The auctioneer said Beethoven gave the hair to pianist Anton Halm as a gift for Halm's wife. He snipped the lock because the composer’s assistant sent Halm a lock of goat’s hair instead of the real thing. Beethoven was not happy when he found out and took care of it himself!
