The FDA has elevated a cheese recall due to possible metal contamination. The Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. originally issued a voluntary recall on Oct. 3 over possible contamination of metal fragments, which poses a risk of internal injury if eaten. It was sold under dozens of brand names at Target, Walmart, Aldi, Publix, and other major retailers across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Borden is one of the brands affected. The recall includes multiple types of shredded cheese and have multiple sell by dates. To get details and check any shredded cheese you purchased, check the FDA website. You can throw away the item or return it to the store you purchased it from and get a refund. Over a million and a half packages of shredded are affected.
